Cable Markers & Wire Tags

Milmark™ cable tags, cable labels and wire markers in stainless steel and engraving laminate, carrying the circuit reference that appears

  • Stainless steel cable tags, laser marked or engraved, for plant, marine and outdoor runs
  • Engraving laminate tags for panels, control rooms and colour-coded schemes
  • Fixed with an end clip, a ball chain, stainless wire or a cable tie
  • Circuit references, wire numbers, destination codes or sequential numbering

Product Description

Milmark™ cable tags identify a cable by the reference that appears on the drawing, so a technician tracing a run does not have to follow it back to the panel. Tags hang on the cable rather than sticking to it, which is why they survive where an adhesive marker lifts: heat, oil, washdown, outdoor runs and cable trays that get handled.

What we make, and how it is fixed. The tag carries the text; the fixing decides how it stays there.

Stainless steel cable tags. These are the ones specified where the cable run is exposed: a flat stainless tag, laser marked or engraved so the text is cut into the metal rather than printed on it, fixed with an end clip, a ball chain or stainless wire. Nothing on them fades, and nothing peels. They are the usual choice for marine and offshore work, for outdoor and underground runs, and anywhere the cable gets washed down.

What goes on the tag. Circuit reference, wire number, destination code, panel and terminal number, or a plain sequential run. Send the schedule as a spreadsheet and the set is produced in order, so the tags arrive matching the drawing rather than needing to be sorted on site.

Where they are used. Cable identification is specified differently depending on who is asking: electrical cable tags on a switchboard, network and fibre cable markers in a data centre, wire markers on panel terminations, cable tags on tray and ladder runs. All of them come down to the same job, a durable tag carrying a reference that matches the drawing. Supplied across Singapore to manufacturing, marine, data centre and energy sites.

For asset numbering rather than circuit identification see our asset and equipment tags. Used across Singapore’s manufacturing, marine, data centre, and energy sectors.

Where the run itself needs identifying rather than the individual cable, our pipe markers and pipe identification cover the same routing problem on services rather than on wiring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Cable tags carry the circuit reference, wire number or destination code that appears on your drawing, so a cable can be identified without tracing it back to the panel. They are used on switchboards, cable tray and ladder runs, panel terminations, structured cabling and data centre installations.

Stainless steel for plant, marine, outdoor and washdown environments, where the text is laser marked or engraved into the metal so it cannot fade or peel. Engraving laminate, a layered plastic, is the choice for panels and control rooms and where colour has to carry meaning, with one colour per circuit type, system or voltage.

With an end clip, a ball chain, stainless steel wire or a cable tie, depending on the cable diameter and the environment. The tag hangs on the cable rather than sticking to it, which is why it survives heat, oil and washdown where an adhesive marker lifts. Tell us the cable size and where the run sits and we will suggest the fixing.

Yes, and it is the usual way these are ordered. Send the schedule as a spreadsheet with one row per tag and the set is produced in order, so the tags arrive matching the drawing rather than needing to be sorted on site. Sequential numbering, circuit references, panel and terminal numbers and QR codes can all be generated from your file.

Both, in practice. A marker at each end identifies the run, and markers at intervals along it identify the cable where it emerges from a tray or a riser. The one at the termination is the one an electrician reads most often.

The circuit or cable reference, and often the origin and destination. Tell us the schedule you work from and we will match its format, because a tag that uses different references from the drawing creates work rather than saving it.
