Product Description

An IMO sign is not a design decision. The symbol, its proportions and its colour are fixed by the standard, and a surveyor checks them against it. What varies is the material, the format and whether the sign will still be readable when the lighting has gone.

What we make. Life-saving appliance signs: lifebuoys, lifejackets, liferafts, survival craft, embarkation ladders and immersion suits. Fire control signs: extinguishers, hoses, foam applicators, fire dampers, emergency stops and remote release stations. Muster station and muster point signs. Escape route and low-location lighting marking. Equipment identification and instruction plates. Prohibition and mandatory notices.

Fire control plan symbols. If you are drawing or updating a fire control plan, the symbols on it come from the same IMO set as the signs on the bulkhead. We produce the plan itself as well as the signage, so the symbol on the drawing and the symbol on the door match. See our fire evacuation and escape route plans.

Standards. Produced to the IMO Resolution A.952(26) and ISO 17631 symbol sets, with correct symbol orientation and proportion, and photoluminescent material produced to DIN 67510. These are the symbol conventions used on SOLAS vessels; final compliance rests with your vessel survey or classification society, not with us.

Materials. Photoluminescent for escape routes, exits and life-saving appliance locations, where the marking has to stay readable once the lighting fails. Reflective and rigid polycarbonate for exterior deck and weather-exposed positions. Aluminium and stainless steel where the sign will be washed down or handled. Self-adhesive vinyl for interior bulkheads and equipment.

Bilingual and vessel-specific. Bilingual signs where the crew and the port state do not share a language, and vessel name, deck or frame references added to equipment and instruction plates so a sign belongs to a position rather than to a stores shelf.

Supplied to vessel operators, shipyards, offshore platforms and port facilities across Singapore. For fire equipment marking ashore see our fire extinguisher and fire safety signs, and for shore-side escape routes our emergency exit signs.

Yes. The symbols on a fire control plan come from the same IMO set as the signs on the bulkhead, and we produce the plan as well as the signage, so the symbol on the drawing matches the symbol on the door.
