Vinyl Letter Cutting

Precision-cut self-adhesive vinyl text, logos, and graphics, available in a full range of colours and finishes with no minimum quantity.

What is Vinyl Letter Cutting?

Vinyl cutting uses a computer-controlled blade to cut self-adhesive vinyl film to any shape or letterform directly from vector artwork, without tooling or setup cost. The cut vinyl is then weeded, transfer-taped, and applied to the target substrate: glass, metal, acrylic, vehicle bodywork, or any other clean, smooth surface. At Million, we stock a full range of vinyl films in matte, gloss, metallic, frosted, reflective, and fluorescent finishes, and we cut to any quantity from a single letter to a full fleet graphic set.

For permanent installations, cast vinyl films offer dimensional stability on curved surfaces and long outdoor durability. For temporary or removable applications, calendered films provide a more economical option. Retroreflective vinyl, the same material used on road signs, is available for high-visibility applications including safety markings, vehicle fleet identification, and outdoor wayfinding systems.

Vinyl graphics are particularly cost-effective for large-format applications where printing the same area would require a wide-format inkjet printer and a rigid substrate. Cut text and logos on glass partitions, shopfronts, and vehicles deliver a clean, professional result that is difficult to achieve by any other method at a comparable cost. We supply cut-and-weeded vinyl on transfer tape ready for application, or we can apply it for you at our Kallang Place facility.

When it's cost-effective It is cut direct from your artwork with no tooling or setup cost, so any quantity from a single letter upward is economical and there is no minimum. It is particularly cost-effective for large-format work, where printing the same area would need a wide-format printer and a rigid substrate, so cut lettering on glass or vehicles delivers a professional result at a lower cost than printing. For full-colour images or fine photographic detail, cutting cannot reproduce them and a printing process is the better choice. Tell us the finish and durability you need and we will advise.

Frequently asked questions

Vinyl letter cutting uses a computer-controlled blade to cut self-adhesive vinyl film into letters, numbers, logos, or shapes. The cut vinyl is applied to surfaces to create signage, vehicle graphics, window lettering, floor markings, and decorative applications. It is a cost-effective solution for large-format or colour-critical marking.

Outdoor-grade cast vinyl with UV-stable inks lasts 5–7 years in direct sunlight and outdoor conditions. Economy calendered vinyl lasts 2–3 years. Correct surface preparation and application are critical for maximum adhesion and longevity.

Vinyl adheres to most smooth, clean surfaces including glass, painted metal, acrylic, PVC, and vehicles. Textured, uneven, or contaminated surfaces reduce adhesion. We advise on the appropriate vinyl grade and primer for specific surface types.

Yes. Quality vinyl lettering can be removed cleanly using heat application (heat gun) and adhesive remover, typically without damaging the underlying surface. Removal is easier when the vinyl is newer. Older, weathered vinyl may require more effort.

Both options are available. We can supply cut-and-weeded vinyl on transfer tape, ready for you to apply, or carry out the application for you.
