Product Description

Colour band tape, also called pipe marking tape, is the fastest way to get a pipe identification system in place. There is no artwork to approve and no lead time on a printed marker: the banding goes round the pipe, the colour says what the line carries, and a plant room that was unreadable on Monday is colour coded by Friday.

How it is used. Peel, cut to length, and wrap. No special tools and no trade skill required, which means your own maintenance team can band a run during a shutdown rather than waiting on a contractor. Bands go at valves, at junctions, either side of wall and floor penetrations, and at intervals along a long run.

Colour coding. Pipe colour coding is produced to the ANSI/ASME A13.1-2020 colour scheme, or to a facility colour standard where a site already runs its own convention. Colours are vivid rather than muted, because a band that has to be read across a plant room at a distance is doing a different job from a label read at arm's length.

Material. Self-adhesive PVC, 70 micron, rated from -40°C to +80°C and resistant to chemicals and seawater. The base film is tested to ISO 4892-2: 2006 for weathering and DIN 4102-B1 for flame. Suitable indoors and out, including marine and offshore installations.

Removable when you want it removed. The tape lifts cleanly off the pipe without residue or surface damage, which matters because pipe services get repurposed and banding gets redone. That is a property of how it comes off deliberately, not a sign it will lift on its own: the adhesive holds through washdown and handling.

Banding and printed markers do different jobs and most schedules use both. The band gives you colour identification along the whole run at low cost; a printed marker names the contents in words. Where you need the line contents spelled out, see our pipe markers; for direction of flow, our flow direction arrow tapes; and to identify the valves on the line, our valve tags. Supplied to oil and gas, marine, pharmaceutical and manufacturing facilities across Singapore.

Frequently Asked Questions

Colour band tape identifies the line by colour alone and can be run along the whole system quickly and cheaply. A printed pipe marker names the contents in words and can carry a flow arrow, a hazard pictogram and a line reference. Most schedules use both: banding for coverage, markers where somebody has to read the detail.

The ANSI/ASME A13.1-2020 colour scheme, or a facility colour standard where a site already runs its own convention. Custom colours are available for either.

No. Peel, cut to length and wrap. No special tools and no trade skill are needed, so your own maintenance team can band a run during a shutdown rather than waiting on a contractor.

Yes. It is rated from -40°C to +80°C and resists chemicals and seawater, and the base film is tested to ISO 4892-2: 2006 for weathering and DIN 4102-B1 for flame. It suits indoor, outdoor, marine and offshore installations.

No. It lifts cleanly when you take it off, leaving no residue or surface damage, which matters when a line is repurposed and has to be rebanded. That is how it behaves when removed deliberately; the adhesive holds through washdown and handling in service.

At valves, at junctions, either side of wall and floor penetrations, and at intervals along a long straight run so the next band is always within sight.
